DIY project: Decorate with CANDY!
What comes to mind when you think of your childhood? Carnivals, bubblegum, hopscotch and playgrounds?
For most of us, childhood memories include CANDY; favorite sweet treats like cotton candy, lemon drops and lollipops.
We all loved playing the game of Candyland… creating gingerbread houses with gum drops & peppermints…trips to the corner store for a candy fix… rivers of chocolate in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Children love the idea and fantasy of being surrounded by candy and its sweet goodness. What could be better?

So tapping into this sweet formula of child + candy = happy… we created fun, delicious elements with candy for a recent photo shoot. Jars filled with bubblegum balls, candy necklaces, pixie sticks, rock candy and other vibrant confections bring color, pattern and texture to the room. Layers of colorful fun create a design theme every child will love. We swirled candy button strips into a large jar and taped jumbo-sized dots to the wall. Imagine the fun and temptation of a whole wall covered in candy dots!
Use your imagination to bring a little bit of old-fashioned candy store charm into your son’s or daughter’s room.
Here’s our take on creating candy décor…
This room features our Young America Abigail Collection. Playful bedding & pops of color complement the layers of candy on the dresser.
We saw this image recently via Hus & Hem and fell in love with the giant confetti dots on the walls. What a great way to add color & fun to a young one’s bedroom…
