Fashionably Fun Back-To-School ideas

It’s that time of year. Time to get your kids ready for the new school year with hip gear, supplies, clothing and footwear.

Here’s a brief guide to some of the season’s fashion finds… beginning with COLOR! Bright colors are fun to wear and look great on kids.

Let’s talk TRENDS… COLOR is key. Brights. Neons. Pastels. Color is everywhere. Especially in denim. Go for a bright tangerine, hot pink, neon lime, vivid blue or deep marine green. Pair a neutral top with bright skinny jeans or denim leggings (jeggings). Or play with color on top of your classic khakis, black pants or basic blue jeans.

PATTERNS are perfect. Polka dots. Stripes. Plaids. Prints galore…  Colorfully graphic backpacks, messenger bags and accessories are “in” too. We love these packs and planners from Carolina Pad (below). Dots, flowers and peace signs are trendy and fun. Notebooks, planners calendars like these can be eye-catching too.

Move over Papermate. The everyday pencil or pen can be vibrant and happy too. Pencils in solids stored in a patterned holder on a desktop can give a girl’s room pop. Scented pens can be enticing enough to eat and look great…

Mix and match graphic patterns for a look that’s now. Go with bold pattern statements or add a subtle hint of pattern with bags, leggings or shoes.

Style + Comfort = Happy, Hip Kids. Here’s to a successful start to the School Year!

Shop online for color and patterns - it’s everywhere. Target is a great source too. Most images: macy’s, carolina pad, see jane work and mini boden. Others via Pinterest. See more on our Stylish Kids board on Pinterest.
